(KSEE/NBC) - A man was using a blowtorch to kill black widow spiders when he caught a home on fire.
Fire officials in California responded to the two-alarm fire Tuesday night.
Nearly 30 firefighters from Fresno Fire Department arrived at the home around 11 p.m.
The man said he was trying to douse the spiders with flames while house sitting for his parents.
Firefighters say he made it out safely and called the fire company.
