CARNELIAN BAY, Calif. - A California deputy recently had to break a car window to free a bear that got trapped in a vehicle in Placer County.
Video footage shows the deputy smash the window and scurry away, just before the bear stumbles out of the car and runs for the forest.
The bear somehow got inside the Subaru Outback and destroyed the interior so badly that the doors couldn't be unlocked, according to the Placer County Sheriff's Department.
In the interest of safety, the deputy decided to break one of the car's windows in order to free the trapped animal.
