A bear cub apparently bulking up for winter picked the wrong way to do it.
When the bear stuck her snout into a protein powder canister Tuesday morning, she got stuck.
Three officers with the Colorado Springs Police Department found the bear near Kiowa and 14th streets at 5:10 a.m., but couldn't get the jar off the bear's face.
"The quick-witted officers were able to get the cub into the back seat of a patrol car and brought her to nearby fire station 3, where a Department of Wildlife Ranger sedated the bear," Colorado Springs Police said. "Firefighters were then able to safely remove the bottle with their rescue tools."
Police said the bear cub was tagged and released in hopes that she will be reunited with her mom.
