DELRAY BEACH, Fla. — If you missed some of those major astronomical events of 2018, you have another chance coming up tonight. The Super Blood Wolf Moon is what the experts are calling it.

If there’s any kind of astronomical event, chances are Bryan Bodie is there to capture it.

“It is a super moon,” said Bodie, who will be out at the beach to check it out Sunday evening. “Pretty exciting to kick off the new year.”

Mark Wiskoff from the South Florida Science Center and Aquarium is ready for the “Super Blood Wolf Moon” eclipse, which hasn't happened in three years.

This is when the moon is closest to earth, and there’s a total lunar eclipse. The sun, earth and moon will all align, turning it red with the first full moon of the year.

“The moon is going to be so bright until the shadow starts to cover it. It’s very unique and one of the longest, about 63 minutes,” said Wiskoff.

He says the celestial show begins around 10:30 Sunday night.
