Eye drops sold at Walgreens, Walmart recalled

Altaire Pharmaceuticals, Inc. is recalling eye drops and ointments sold at Walgreens and Walmart because they may not be sterile.

According to a release on the FDA's website, the use of these products may result in serious and potentially life threatening infections or death.

There have been no reports of injuries, but Altaire is recalling them as a precaution.

The products include lubricant eye drops, sodium chloride ophthalmic ointment, sodium chloride ophthalmic solution, and lubricant eye ointment sold under the Walgreens brand, as well as eye products sold under the Equate brand at Walmart.
