Diamond of California recalls macadamia nuts for salmonella

(NBC) - Select bags of macadamia nuts are being recalled nationwide due to possible salmonella contamination.

Snyder's-Lance is recalling four ounce bags of Diamond of California macadamia nuts and 2.25 ounces bags of diamond of California macadamia halves and pieces.

Salmonella can cause serious and sometimes fatal infections in young children, the elderly and others with weakened immune systems.

No illnesses have been reported.

Consumers can contact diamond of California's consumer affairs department for a full refund.

Consumers who may have purchased the recalled Diamond of California products can contact Consumer Affairs for a full refund online or by calling 503-364-0399 between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. Pacific Time, Monday through Friday.
