INDIAN RIVER COUNTY, Fla. — Two Indian River County students are under arrest and accused of making threats against local schools.

The Indian River County Sheriff's Office said 18-year-old Sean Martin, a student at Vero Beach High School, posted a threat on SnapChat that led to the school being put on lockdown earlier this week.

Deputies also said a seventh grader at Imagine School At South Vero was arrested for making threats against the charter school.

IRCSO said the threats were made after school hours, and the student was taken into custody off campus.

"These two incidents near the end of the school year highlight the seriousness of making a threat," said Indian River County Sheriff Deryl Loar in a statement. "It is not a joke and you will be arrested."

Martin is facing a charge of written threats to kill, and is in the Indian River County Jail on no bond.

The seventh grader, whose name has not been released, was arrested and taken to the Department of Juvenile Justice in Fort Pierce.
