Grandparents are not doing enough to secure their prescription medication from their grandchildren, according to a poll by the University of Michigan.

Researchers surveyed more than 2,000 And more than 80 percent said they did not change their storage habits when their grandchildren visited.

The biggest locations grandparents left their medication included medicine cabinets or cupboards, countertops and inside their purses.

Only 5 percent used a locked cupboard or cabinet.

And nearly a third used a container other than what the medicine came in, including easy-to-open containers.

According to the CDC, roughly 60,000 kids younger than 5 go to the ER every year for ingesting medication.
