Kaley Cuoco’s time on “The Big Bang Theory” may be coming to an end, but the actress has already announced her next gig. She’s going to be the star of a new animated series for DC Universe, a subscription-based streaming platform launched by DC Comics, providing the voice for none other than Harley Quinn.
The series, simply titled, “Harley Quinn” will feature a stellar line up of voice actors alongside Cuoco, including Jason Alexander, Wanda Sykes and Giancarlo Esposito.
The announcement of Cuoco’s involvement in the animated series came at New York Comic Con, where a trailer for the show also debuted. You can get a sense of the delinquency that will take place within Harley Quinn’s world in the below clip from Warner Bros. TV, which also features her long-time accomplice Poison Ivy and rival Batman.
The Harley Quinn character first appeared in a 1992 episode of “Batman: The Animated Series.” While working as a psychiatrist at Arkham Asylum, under the name Dr. Harleen Quinzel, she wound up falling in love with The Joker after he was able to manipulate her, and she was driven to madness. She was willing to help break him out of the asylum, kill innocent people or do anything to keep her “puddin'” happy.
The trailer definitely gives you a sense of how fun this show will be — and if you don’t agree Harley Quinn promises she will “bash your f—ing head in!” So, obviously this series won’t be aimed at little kids!
Shortly after the news was announced at Comic Con, Cuoco took to her personal Instagram account to share with fans:
“So excited … we have been working on this adult series for awhile and can’t wait for you to see it next year … it’s edgy, crazy, and seriously funny! Harley’s back,” she captioned the post.
Thanks , puddin!This isn’t Cuoco’s first time voice acting, as she’s also voiced characters in shows such as “Bratz” and “Brandy & Mr. Whiskers,” but it is her first time voice acting for this popular character. Fans had some pretty strong opinions on the matter.
Some were sad to see that the character will no longer be voiced by Tara Strong, who took over the role for original Harley Quinn voice actor Arleen Sorkin and has since become synonymous with the character after playing her in several projects.

Margot Robbie played Harley Quinn in the most recent live-action “Suicide Squad” film, but some liked the idea of Cuoco’s depiction of the character enough to see her give the live-action version a try, too.

Others are intrigued enough to give this show a watch, and that’s the best way to see if Cuoco can get the job done for the fans. One Twitter user said they thought the series “could be something great.”

The project isn’t just an acting gig for Cuoco, she’s also listed as an executive producer of the series.
According to Cuoco, “Harley Quinn” will be out next year. A subscription to DC Universe will cost you $7.99 a month or $74.99 a year.
