HAWTHORNE, Calif. (AP) — Officials are investigating after Harrison Ford piloted a small plane that wrongly crossed a runway where another plane was landing.
A representative for Ford said in a statement Wednesday that Ford misheard air traffic controllers at Hawthorne Airport near Los Angeles on Friday before making the error.
The statement says the 77-year-old actor immediately acknowledged the mistake and apologized. It says no one was injured and there was never any danger of a collision.
The Federal Aviation Administration says it is investigating the incident. It's the latest of several similar incidents for Ford, who frequently flies planes and helicopters.
