Lisa is a native Texan, but loves her new home in South Florida.  She has three sisters - all with the same initials.

Growing up on the Gulf Coast, she is no stranger to the water or tropical weather. In 1994, the remnants of Hurricane Rosa caused a devastating flood for southeast Texas.  Her family's home was flooded and they were forced to evacuate. That was the storm that sparked her interest in weather.

After graduating from the University of Houston, she decided to pursue a master's degree in statistics at Rice University.  She then went on to receive a master's degree in geosciences, with a concentration in broadcast meteorology, from Mississippi State University.

She got her start in the TV business as a weekend meteorologist in Jackson, Miss.  When she got the opportunity to work in West Palm Beach, she didn't think twice.  She has personal experience with tropical weather - Hurricane Rita in 2005 and Hurricane Ike in 2008, among other storms.

She is excited to take advantage of all South Florida has to offer, including surfing.  But first she has to get over her fear of sharks...
