Temporary road closures begin Friday Night for the Port St. Lucie Crosstown Bridge celebration

The following information is from the city of Port St. Lucie:

What: The Crosstown Community Celebration and Block Party will commemorate the grand opening of the city’s new, third bridge over the North Fork of the St. Lucie River. Temporary road closures will be in place beginning Friday night, September 27, at 9 p.m.

When: The Community Celebration and Block Party will take place from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, September 28. (Please see attached flyer for more details.)

Where: The Ribbon Cutting Ceremony and Celebration will take place at the western base of the bridge at the southeast corner of Crosstown Parkway and Floresta Drive. Temporary road closures will be in place Friday night at 9 p.m. on Floresta Drive with detours at Thornhill Drive and Evergreen Terrace, with access for local traffic only.

In order to accommodate the grand opening celebration, the City of Port St. Lucie will temporarily close Floresta Drive at Autumn Terrace to Chaloupe Avenue, along with surrounding local roads, beginning Saturday, September 28, at 5 a.m. to all traffic. The following roads also will be temporarily closed at 5 a.m. on Saturday:

  • Sandia Drive at Crosstown Pkwy
  • Crosstown Pkwy east of Airoso Blvd.

Motorists are encouraged to use Airoso Blvd. or other alternate routes during the event. All of these roads will reopen at 4 p.m. after the event. The new bridge also will open to traffic at 4 p.m. Cars will be able to line up to drive over the bridge on Crosstown Parkway from Airoso Blvd. to Sandia Drive beginning at 3 p.m. on Saturday.
