South Florida getting ready for the Full Harvest Moon tonight. The full moon is officially at 3:05pm this afternoon but won't be visible in south Florida until it rises at 7:32pm just as the sun sets. Many people flock to the beach to catch the first glimpse of the moon peeking above the water.  It is an incredible sight as the moon rises up, casting a glittering reflection off the Atlantic ocean that looks like a sheet with diamonds on it.

Our weather will be warm and muggy with just a light wind off the water, there will be a few showers and storms around through the evening, however, most should stay well inland.

We would love to see your photos of the harvest moon, post them to our WPTV Facebook page or upload them to our YouReport page.

There's also a partial lunar eclipse in certain parts of the world, you can watch that live streaming on Space.com
