Statement from Stephanie’s family:

"It is with great sadness and heavy hearts we are writing to you on behalf of 3 small children who lost both of their parents in a very short period of time.

On July 11th, Jevaughn Suckoo was tragically murdered. He was taken from his girlfriend Stephanie Caceres who was pregnant at the time with twins and is the mother of their 1-year-old girl.

Stephanie gave birth two those beautiful and healthy twins 3 days after his passing on July 14th. We all wish this already tragic story stopped there. It did not though. The twins lost their mother too.

Stephanie developed an infection and was admitted to the Intensive Care Unit. Like everything Stephanie did in life, she battled hard for 10 days. On July 26th, the almighty also decided to call to heaven another angel. Our Stephanie gained her wings to Heaven sadly leaving her two twin babies behind. However, Jevaughn Jr and Lailah at least had the opportunity to bond with their mother for 4 days before she too was gone.

EARLIER:

Detectives are investigating a homicide that occurred Tuesday night inside a gated apartment complex in West Palm Beach.

At about 7:35 p.m., police received 911 calls of a shooting at the Renaissance Apartments located in the 4100 block of Bear Lakes Ct. off of Military Trail.

"Especially last night I couldn't sleep because I didn't know where the gunshots were going to come from, my window, through my window," said neighbor Zania Ervilus, who lives downstairs.

When officers arrived, they found a man who was shot inside the apartment that later died of his injuries.

The victim was later identified as 26-year-old Jevaughn Suckoo.

Jevaughn's father told NewsChannel 5 that he was the father of a girl who turns two in September and his girlfriend is expecting twins.

"We have never been through anything like this," said Dwight Suckoo, Jevaughn's father. "I try to keep my family away from things like this but unfortunately my son got caught up in it."

Suckoo had this to say to whoever pulled the trigger and took his son's life, "I want the killer to know, make no mistake, we're going to find you," said Suckoo.
