(WPLG/CNN) - A Miami Gardens mom scared off a burglar this month with a shotgun, possibly saving her children's lives.
This surveillance video recorded on March 4 shows a man trying to break into the woman's home.
The woman, who doesn't want to be named, said she was home with her 10-year-old daughter and 3-year-old son when the incident occurred.
When she heard the banging noise, she said her instincts kicked in.
When the man got into the home, the woman says he knew he in was in trouble.
"He was running for his life and kept looking back, making sure I wasn't going to shoot him in the back," the woman said.
Investigators are still looking for the intruder, who got away in a stolen Mercedes-Benz. The car was later found in Miami.
