A 9-month-old dog is recovering after being shot and left for dead on the side of the road in Hollywood, Florida.
Local news outlets report that the dog, named Lexie, and was found and rushed to an animal hospital Friday where she is currently recovering.
Dr. Angela Suarez says X-rays showed that the dog had been shot in the right leg. Lexie underwent surgery and now faces a two-month recovery.
Suarez says animal rescue organization Grateful Paws will pick up the bill.
She says there is no word on who shot the dog or who its owners are.
