Broward County Sheriff Scott Israel was struck by a vehicle while jogging in Davie Tuesday evening.
It happened near Southwest 42nd Court and Hiatus Road.
According to the Broward Sheriff's Office, the driver remained at the scene and Sheriff Israel was transported to the hospital with minor injuries.
BSO officials said they have spoken to him and he said he's doing "fine." He was later released from the hospital.
Davie Police are investigating.
The extent of the sheriff's injuries or details on how the incident occurred have not been released.
