The Florida Highway Patrol said an 8- to 9-foot alligator blocked traffic Wednesday morning on a busy Tampa-area highway.
The incident occurred around 6:15 a.m. in the southbound lanes of the Veterans Expressway near Hutchinson Road.
FHP had the gator removed but did say it was snapping at cars that were passing by.
