PORT ST. LUCIE, Fla. -- A motorcyclist died in a crash Friday night in Port St. Lucie.

The Florida Highway Patrol says 25-year-old David Michael Staub, Jr. of Port St. Lucie was traveling southbound on U.S. 1 in the center lane near Westmoreland Boulevard Friday at 7:40 p.m. on his 2005 Kawasaki motorcycle.

FHP says 65-year-old Oswald James Bryan of Fort Pierce pulled his vehicle into the center lane, directly into the path of Staub's motorcycle.

Staub was ejected from his motorcycle and landed in the northbound turn lane of U.S. 1.

He was transported to Port St. Lucie Medical Center where he was pronounced dead from the injuries sustained in his crash.

FHP says Staub was wearing a helmet at the time of the crash.
