A 2-year-old Fort Pierce boy is dead after being found in a car Friday afternoon.
The Fort Pierce Police department says the boy wandered away from his family somewhere around 2:45 Friday afternoon.
His family was searching for him and found him unconscious and not breathing inside a car at 5:08 p.m. in the 300 block of N. 11th St. in Fort Pierce.
How he got into the car is still under investigation.
Family members called police and fire rescue at 5:09 p.m.
The boy was transported to Lawnwood Regional Hospital where he was pronounced dead.
