A 12-year-old was transported to a hospital after a flash of lightning near Carver Middle School in Delray Beach.
Officials say the child did not appear to have any injuries but was transported to a hospital out of an abundance of caution. The youngster's parents were notified.
The lightning flash happened near a group of children waiting to be picked up. The flash left some shaken. They were ushered inside until the storm passed.
