A former treasurer for the Quail Run Homeowners Association has been charged with grand theft, according to the Boynton Beach Police Department.

Police arrested Norman Glavas, 69, Thursday morning.

Investigators say he embezzled more than $50,000 from the HOA.

Police say Glavas made out 16 checks, all but one to cash, from Quail Run to three different personal accounts.

Bank records indicated Glavas used the money to pay for personal assets including his mortgage for his residence in Quail Run, according to a probable cause affidavit.

In addition to grand theft, he faces charges of organized fraud and money laundering, according to police.
