A Papa John's delivery driver is credited with helping to thwart an armed carjacking in front of his store on Bamboo Drive in Palm Beach Gardens on Thursday.

As a customer, Jeffry Prince, left the store with his pizzas and got into his 2012 Hundai Sonata, he was approached by two men.

According to incident reports, one of the men pointed a gun at him and demanded the keys. The other man demanded his cellphone and reached into the car and grabbed it out of Prince's pocket.

They ordered him out of the car and got in. Prince then ran back to the store to call 911. Prince told the store employees what happened and they ran outside and saw the men driving away.

Another store employee, driver Christian Cornejo, was leaving for a delivery when Prince told him what had happened. Cornejo drove his vehicle toward the carjackers and blocked them in.

The men took off on foot and Cornejo followed them until he lost sight of them.

Meanwhile, Palm Beach Gardens police had Prince call his wife and had her track his stolen cellphone from her computer. She was able to locate the phone near the intersection of Osha Street and Reed Drive, which is about one block from where the incident took place.

After a short foot chase, the suspects, Wiltavious Peterson and Willie Peterson, were taken into custody.
