U.S. Representative Patrick Murphy won big against his closest competitor Alan Grayson.

In front of a packed crowd in Palm Beach Gardens, he rallied his supporters in what's expected to be a close U.S. Senate Race.

It's a race all the nation will be watching with the balance of power up for grabs this coming November.

"We have to address income equality and we have to break down the barriers that are holding back so many middle class families," says Murphy.

Even before his primary win, Murphy had been looking past his fight against Rep. Alan Grayson. Tuesday night he once again took jabs against his now current opponent.

"Marco Rubio is the worst in Washington because he puts himself first before everyone," says Murphy.

He has the backing from all the big name Democrats including President Obama and Vice President Joe Biden.

For some, they admire Murphy as a centrist Democrat.

"Prefer people who work with both parties and take ideas from both parties," says Marianne Gruskin who attended Murphy's watch party tonight.

Murphy is hoping that kind of support will win him that U.S. Senate spot.

He also made it clear should he win, he will serve a full 6-year term.
