We are getting our first account of what happened at the Duffy's on Indiantown Road in Jupiter minutes before law enforcement says Austin Harrouff took the lives of John Stevens and Michelle Mishcon.

A police report, released by Jupiter Police Department, indicates Austin's mother Mina called Jupiter police just before midnight Monday.

Mina says her son got into an argument and stormed off from the restaurant at around 8:30 Monday night.

His mother went on to explain Austin had been "acting strange the last week or so" claiming he had superpowers and he was here to "protect people".

However, Mina told police she did not believe Austin was a danger to himself or anyone else.

When asked if he was a drug user or had any history of mental problems she said no.

She and other family members also told police Austin was a nice young man who would not hurt himself or anyone else.

However, in the hours his family believed he was missing, Harrouff went walking toward his father’s house - but never got there.

Instead he stopped along Kokomo Lane.

The path he took brought him north on Island Way - more than 3 and a half miles.

"He stops, one street short of his father's home, turns left, which is west, and has the fateful encounter with the two victims,” Martin County Sheriff William Snyder said Tuesday.

The end result was a violent scene many in the neighborhood won't soon forget.
