Extra deputies will be patrolling Martin County High School Thursday.

The Martin County Sheriff’s Office says they found a non-credible threat on a desk at the school.

The threat had the number 187 written with Thursday’s date.  The number 187 is the California penal/criminal code for homicide.

Even though the threat was deemed non credible, law enforcement says they are taking the message seriously.

At this time there is no word on who is behind the threat. The sheriff’s office said they are trying to track down the student who did it.

A recorded phone message was sent to the school’s parents Wednesday to keep them in the loop.
