Vero Beach woman killed when attempting to get out of moving vehicle

A Vero Beach woman was killed early Saturday morning after attempting to get out of a moving vehicle. 

The incident happened shortly after 1 a.m. at 104th Avenue and 87 Street in Vero Beach. 

According to a crash report, 32-year-old Jacob Matthew Woolley of Vero Beach was driving a 2004 Ford F-150 on southbound 104th Avenue when his passenger, 42-year-old Alana Christine Brigham, opened the door and attempted to get out of the vehicle. Brigham fell into the roadway and was run over by the vehicle. 

She was transported to Sebastian Medical Center where she was pronounced dead, the report said. 

The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
