Vero Beach police are asking people to avoid the area of 16th Street and 25th Avenue.
Police say they are looking for suspects possibly connected to a report of shots fired on Highland Avenue.
They ask residents who live in the area to stay inside their homes.
Police say they are closing the road at 20th Avenue and 16th Street to minimize traffic on 16th Street.
