The Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office said an employee of a local air conditioning company was arrested on multiple charges, including attempted murder.
According to officials, 34-year-old Dario Hernan Dotto of suburban West Palm Beach had an appointment at a home in Boynton Beach to repair the air conditioning unit.
After going inside, for an unknown reason, Dotto restrained the young children and assaulted a woman.
Dotto struck the victim multiple times with a blunt object, suffering sever lacerations to the face and head.
Deputies were able to find and arrest the suspect Saturday, and he confessed to the attack.
Dotto has been charged with attempted first-degree homicide, kidnapping and two counts of cruelty towards a child.
Dotto is being held at the Palm Beach County Jail without bond.
