There’s good news and bad news for a Riviera Beach homeless outreach center.

Someone donated a building to house Valley of Love Ministries. This means the organization won’t have to pay rent anymore. Something it’s struggled with at its current location at 1901 Broadway.

But the new building needs a lot of work. Director Marie Jean-Pierre said the building needs to be re-wired before FPL will turn on electricity at the property. It also needs remodeling inside to better serve the homeless.

Administrators are asking electricians and contractors to help remodel the property.

Time is off the essence. The ministry is struggling to pay the roughly $2,300 it owes in rent at its current location. The sooner it can move to the new location, at 14th Street and Broadway, the sooner it can save money.
