"We buried the hatchet," Carson said.

Carson, the retired physician who lives in West Palm Beach, and the part-time Palm Beach resident Trump, stood side by side inside Trump's Mar-a-Lago estate.

Carson is now throwing his political weight behind the man who hit him with personal attacks while the two were both in the race.

Carson says the attacks are in the past.

"That happens in American politics," Carson said Friday.

Trump says those attacks were just talk.

"It's politics, it's tough stuff, it's a tough business.  I used to think real estate in Manhattan is tough, his is a tough business this politics," Trump said.

Carson said moving forward more people will see a different side of Trump.

"There are two different Donald Trumps: there's the one you see on the stage and there's the one who's very cerebral," Carson said.

After a more civil debate in Miami Thursday night, political analyst Brian Crowley says you are seeing a change in Trump's tone.

"I think last night and today we've seen a major change in Donald Trump's approach to this election. He's taking a greater deal of unifying the party and the millions of voters he's brought in.  He's trying to move into the general election," Crowley says.

Trump said he wants Carson to focus on education in his campaign.

Carson will now hit the campaign trail to support the man who now carries his endorsement with Florida voters hitting the polls on Tuesday.
