The 33rd “National Night Out,” also known as "America's Night Out Against Crime," is occurring Tuesday night across the nation.
Police departments will work to improve relationships between law enforcement and the community.
Police violence across the country has raised discussions on how to improve the relationships between police and the community.
"National Night Out" is supposed to be a night of fun but also present an opportunity for local officers to have conversations with the people they protect.
The Riviera Beach Police department will be meeting with members of the community at the Wells Recreation Center to work to bridge the gap in the community.
"National Night Out" is also an effort reduce crime and keep drugs out of neighborhoods.
This is supposed to be an informal night, so the public is urged to attend. Tuesday’s event in Riviera Beach will be held from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. at the Wells Recreation Center located at 409 Avenue H W, West Palm Beach, FL 33404.
