It's lights, camera - and for local filmmaker Alcee Walker - a call to action.

"It's about giving back, it's about staying true to the vision," Walker says.

Walker, born in Palm Beach County, once lived out of his car.

Now he's living out his dreams. He has won several student awards from the Director's Guild of America.

"The objective is to bring all my work back home, because this is where I grew up, this is where the inspiration comes from," he says.

His newest project filming locally is called 'Child Support.'

The movie is a take on the true story of Amy Joyner, a Delaware teen who earlier this year was bullied so badly, it cost her her life

Walker brought in young actresses locally and from all over the country.

12-year-old Jahkiyla Atwaters from Boynton Beach plays the main character Monica.

"I've been bullied before, it's not a good feeling," she says. “I don't know why people seem to bully, I don't think it's right.”

8-year-old Milani Trichelle plays her sister, Posey.

She says she's had to step in before to defend a friend who was being bullied.

“I was like just leave him alone, just let him be free,” she says.

Alcee is hoping to use these young actresses to convey an important message.

“The biggest goal of this film is to educate these girls on how to love one another,” he says. “There's no reason why young girls should be getting killed.

He’s using the platform he's worked hard to achieve to show kids no matter their circumstance there is hope.

Alcee says he's hoping to release his film by early next year.

After that, he'll hit the film festival circuit in Los Angeles.
