Two people are recovering tonight after a truck crashes into a Greenacres gas station.

The accident happened Saturday afternoon at the Marathon Gas Station on Lake Worth Road near Jog Road.

Officials say this was a multi-vehicle accident.

According to witnesses, a Dodge truck tried to get across Lake Worth Road from a plaza on the north side to head eastbound when it struck three vehicles and then flew into the gas station.

John Acosta is friends with the gas station owner. He says the building is a wreck.

"Merchandise is all on the ground," says Acosta.

The gas station clerk was inside when it happened and said "it happened really fast".

Palm Beach County Fire Rescue said two people were injured and taken to a local hospital. Witnesses said the driver had to be extricated.

Roy Collingwood says his brother Dennis was one of the two injured. He was using the ATM at the time.

"Felt an explosion happen and he got crushed."

Collingwood says Dennis is going to be okay.

"Lucky one. But it was unpredictable."

The condition of the driver of the truck is unknown.

A building inspector was contacted to inspect the damage to the building.
