George Zimmerman is making headlines again after reportedly being shot in the face during an altercation while driving Monday.

A neighborhood watch volunteer in Sanford, Florida, Zimmerman fatally shot Trayvon Martin during a confrontation on Feb. 26, 2012. The shooting gained national attention and spurred protests across the U.S.

Zimmerman was acquitted of murder charges more than a year later, but since then has been in trouble with the law several times.

Two months after Zimmerman was acquitted, police in Lake Mary, Florida, responded to a report of domestic violence. Zimmerman’s wife Shellie called police and told them Zimmerman threatened her and his father-in-law with a gun, CNN reported. The police and Shellie Zimmerman declined to press charges.

Shellie Zimmerman filed for divorce soon after.

Zimmerman was arrested after he allegedly pointed a shotgun at his girlfriend, Samantha Scheibe, and pushed her. He was arrested in Apopka, Florida. he was charged with domestic violence and aggravated assault with a weapon. The charges were dropped after Scheibe said she didn’t want to press charges, CNN reported.

Zimmerman was involved in a road rage incident in Lake Mary, Florida. According to WKMGin Orlando, Zimmerman followed and threatened to kill another driver. When he later appeared at the man’s workplace, the driver called police. No charges were filed.

Jan. 9, 2015
Zimmerman was arrested in Lake Mary, Florida for allegedly throwing a wine bottle at girlfriend Brittany Lee Brunell. He was arrested for aggravated assault. However, Brunell later recanted her statement and no charges were filed, WKMG reported.
