The “World’s Strongest Coffee,” Black Insomnia, is now available in the United States.  A cup takes you well over the recommended daily amount of caffeine, as noted by the FDA.

With the hashtag #SleepingIsCheating, the coffee company claims the high caffeine content is achieved without any additives.

With the help of Amazon.com, the South African coffee is now available in the states. The company claims it tastes less acidic and burnt than a typical roast.

Caffeine Informer ranks it high on the list of drinks with caffeine content.  It also lists the coffee on the “deadliest” of brews on the market with the highest caffeine content.

Black Insomnia has 702 mg of caffeine per 12 fluid ounces brewed, about four times the amount in a typical cup of coffee.

The FDA recommends 400 mg of caffeine in one day for the average adult.

The Mayo Clinic reports too much caffeine can cause side effects from irritability to a rapid heartbeat and muscle tremors.
