(NBC) - Season 10 of NBC's "The Voice" is in the books, and the winner of Tuesday night's finale provided the show with a first.

The finale came down to southern rocker Adam Wakefield and former child star Alisan Porter.

Porter, known for her lead role in the 1991 film “Curly Sue,” took home the big prize.

"It's one of the best moments of my entire life. I can't believe it. It's a dream come true," said Porter.

It's also a second chance at stardom for porter. Early showbiz success gave way to addiction, but overcoming it and becoming a mom provided perspective.

"To be able to follow my dreams, to make music, to make a record, perform for people. It's icing on the cake," said Porter.

Runner Wakefield had solid consolation prize. His original composition, "lonesome, broken and blue" hit no. One on the iTunes chart on Tuesday.

"My big win was doing my own song on the show and have it be popular. I was in a good place either way," said Wakefield

finishing in third place was Nebraska pre-school teacher Hannah Huston.

"Third place is like first place to me. It's so cool!" said Huston.

Michigan blues guitarist Laith Al Saadi in fourth.

"The experience overall was just tremendous," said Al Saadi.

The night's other winner was pop singer Christina Aguilera who became the first female coach to win "The Voice."
