Florida is becoming Charlie Keegan's new home. Born and raised in Kansas City, Charlie has spent the past two years covering news in Fort Myers.
He joined WPTV Newschannel 5 in July 2014 as a multimedia journalist covering southern Palm Beach County. He's excited to stay in Florida and is eager to see how the east coast compares to the west.
Charlie knew he wanted to be a journalist in high school. And getting degrees in broadcast journalism and French form Missouri State University cemented his career choice. His first job was on the eastern front of the Rocky Mountains at KFBB in Great Falls, Montana.
He traded the cold and snow, for Florida's sun and sand. First at WBBH in Fort Myers, and now in West Palm Beach/Boca Raton.
One highlight of his career so far is flying with the Navy's Blue Angels. But he enjoys meeting new people every day and telling their stories.
