Manatee mothers bring their young to the safety of these quiet waters

The cold temperatures here in South Florida are sending many natives in search of warmer climes....  including manatees.

Sunday there were five sea cows spotted in the shallow water, near the guarded swimming area at Peanut Island.

Among them were two mothers with one calf, each. One of the babies was small, and appeared very young.

Thanks to Captain Dave for sharing this video with us.

He said the water was crystal clear, making it even easier to see the manatees, as well as schools of mullet, and several sheepshead.
