There's a renewed effort to regulate commercial parasailing in Florida. New legislation was filed in the house on Wednesday, that's comparable to a bill filed by Senator Maria Sachs in the senate.
This bill would require parasailing companies to stop operating when weather conditions are unfavorable, and to carry insurance. The operator would also be required to have a valid license to operate the vessel.
Many of our local parasailing companies already voluntarily comply. The new bills will be considered when the state legislature convenes in 2014.
