Hockey puck lands in goalie's pants, scores against his own team: Sabres beat Coyotes

The Buffalo Sabres' win over the Phoenix Coyotes last night was one to remember when a goalie unwittingly scored against his own team.

With the game tied 1-1 in overtime, Coyotes goalie Mike Smith was standing out in front of his goal when the puck flew into the air.

As Smith spun around, the puck dropped just behind his head and disappeared.

It never hit the ice and both Smith and the players around him looked puzzled as they searched for it.

The puck landed in the back of Smith's pants and as he slid back to protect his goal, the puck, still tucked in his pants, crossed the goal line.
