In a Southwest Florida neighborhood full of manicured lawns, clean pavements and blooming flowers, a massive wall of leftover Hurricane Irma debris stands out like a sore thumb.
One woman says she's tried everything to get the city of Cape Coral to help.
“The people across the street put in sod to fix the damage that my trees caused. And yet, my yard still looks like … junk," said Barbara Randolph, the resident with a mountain of tree stumps in her front lawn
Randolph says damage from the hurricane forced her to have her trees cut down and uproot them in order to be ready for pick up. The cost of getting that done was $4,100.
The city of Cape Coral told WFTX-TV that tree stumps are a separate item and are cleaned up last. They clarified that if residents hire contractors, it is the contractor's job to clean up the left over trees. However, they are planning to go out to Randolph's house tomorrow to take care of the tree stumps.
