Local students greeted them with hugs and support as they got off the bus.

Students are expected to meet with Gov. Rick Scott, Attorney General Pam Bondi and Senate President Joe Negron. Some of the meetings are closed to the public.

Students met with Negron at 9 a.m.

A rally to support gun safety reform begins at noon, but no students are expected to attend due to safety concerns. Speakers will include State Sen. Gary Farmer and State Rep. Carlos Guillermo Smith.
