Miami police motorcycle officers injured helping direct traffic for President Obama's motorcade

Two Miami police motorcycle officers were injured in an accident while clearing the way for President Obama's motorcade in South Florida.

They were making way for the president on I-95 as he headed to Miami International Airport.

The president was returning from two Democratic Party fundraisers in Miami Beach.

One officer ended up with road rash, the other had facial trauma and a back injury. They were taken to two hospitals.

Both are in stable condition and are expected to be OK.

About 20 or so officers parked their motorcycles outside one of the hospitals to show their support for the injured cops.

The incident did not delay the president's departure at the airport. But it did cause bumper-to-bumper traffic on I-95 southbound.

There's no word yet on the exact nature of the accident.
