MIAMI, Fla. - Health and Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebelius came to Miami to tout a Spanish-language version of the federal health insurance website.
Sebelius joined three South Florida residents at a Miami library Friday to talk about the benefits of enrolling in the program.
Online Spanish-language signups were initially delayed because of problems with the main website, HealthCare.gov. Sebelius says CuidadoDeSalud.gov is up and running, and that bilingual call centers can answer questions for anyone having trouble with the website.
The website got a "soft launch" over the weekend to tease out any lurking glitches.
More Floridians are signing up for the program than residents in any other state relying on the federal exchange. According to Health and Human Services figures released Wednesday, nearly 18,000 have registered over the last two months.
