The Boca Raton Police Department has not released many details into what led one of their officers to shoot and kill a man.

An investigation is ongoing right now after Boca Raton assistant police chief says one of the department's officers shot and killed a man Sunday night. After the shooting, officers found a woman's body a few blocks away.
BOCA RATON, Fla. - An investigation is ongoing after a Boca Raton police officer shot and killed a man Sunday night. After the shooting, officers then found a woman's body a few blocks away.
The incident happened around 6 p.m. in the 500 block of South Ocean Blvd.
When officers arrived, police said they encountered an armed suspect, Ian Burlakoff, in the northbound shoulder of South Ocean Boulevard.
Police said Burlakoff failed to follow officers' commands and then reached for a handgun.
An officer, whose name has not been released, fired a shot, killing Burlakoff.
Following the shooting, witnesses told officers that Burlakoff had shot and killed a woman a short distance away.
Officers found the body of a woman, identified as Germana Burlakoff, 37, of Boca Raton in an empty lot across the street.
