Florida Turnpike lanes reopen in Fort Pierce

ST. LUCIE COUNTY, Fla. - UPDATE: The turnpike has reopened in St. Lucie County.

ST. LUCIE COUNTY — A vehicle fire shut down southbound lanes of Florida's Turnpike near Fort Pierce on Tuesday morning, said Florida Highway Patrol spokesman Sgt. Mark Wysocky.

FHP troopers responded at about 10:15 a.m. to a tractor-trailer that had caught fire just south of the Okeechobee Road exit near mile marker 152, Wysocky said.

Both southbound lanes were closed for about 45 minutes before officials opened the left lane.
