2-year-old found wandering in Port St. Lucie neighboorhood

A 2-year-old child was found wandering a Port St. Lucie neighborhood on Thursday morning, according Port St. Lucie Police spokesman Frank Sabol.

A good Samaritan driving west on Devera Avenue saw the toddler wandering around neighborhood at approximately  7:45 a.m., according to authorities.

The good Samaritan, identified as Deneen Colosi,  told police she noticed a little girl standing in the swale of a Port St. Lucie neighborhood.

"There's a baby running down the street after that car, and she had come out of the swale right there. She seemed relatively clean and everything, but her feet were all dirty," said Collen Michalak, a neighbor in the area.

Deneen along with a neighborhood resident searched the area for the parents of the child.  They contacted Port St. Lucie Police were called when they unable to locate the little girl's parents. 

At approximately 8:40 a.m.. Port St. Lucie Police were able to gain enough information that led to the toddler's home. 

The 2-year-old girl was then reunited with her mother and grandmother. 

Police are currently still investigating the incident  and looking into whether or not the family may face possible child neglect charges.
