Natasha Shaquita Nickerson: Fort Pierce woman faces child cruelty charge after crash

FORT PIERCE — A Fort Pierce woman was charged with cruelty to a child after she allegedly jerked the steering wheel during an argument with the driver of the car in which she and two children were riding.

The car went through a row of bushes and a small fence and crossed a lawn before striking the front door of a residence in the 2200 block of Avenue P, according to an arrest report.

Natasha Shaquita Nickerson, 25, who lives in the 2900 block of Avenue J, was released from the St. Lucie County Jail on Saturday after posting a $3,750 bond, records show.

The 25-year-old driver, Jason P. Thompson, 25, was cited for failure to provide a vehicle registration and proof of insurance, and for not having a child restraint, according to an arrest affidavit.

Two car seats in the back seat of the car had not been properly secured, the affidavit said.
