Jeffrey Martin faces 96 identity theft charges after being stopped on Interstate 95

FORT PIERCE, Fla. - A traffic stop on Interstate 95 in St. Lucie County ended in the arrest of a Broward County man suspected of identity theft.
St. Lucie County sheriff's deputies said that Jeffrey Martin of Pembroke Pines, Fla., was in the northbound lanes of I-95 and driving too fast and close to a box truck.
Investigators said Martin was also swerving into the middle lane, forcing another driver out of his lane.
Deputies said that they conducted a search of Martin's car and found 48 gift cards that did not belong to him.
Martin is charged with 48 counts of credit card fraud, one count of trafficking in counterfeited credit cards and 47 counts fraudulent use of another person's identity without that person's consent, as well as one count of misdemeanor marijuana possession.
Deputies will meet with federal authorities to continue their investigation.
